INDORE FOOD BLOGGERS MEET - 2015 #INDORIZAYKA
“People who love to eat, are always the best people.” -Julia Child
20th December 2015, a distinctly pleasurable gastronomical day in my life. Indore known for being “Zaaykedar” has started to be known for “Indori Zayka” as well. Indori Zayka being a platform for exploring some prominent food outlets of Indore for the chatore’s information, took on a venture to organize a meet for the likeminded people. “Food bloggers meet” being a first such meet invited all the food explorers and bloggers of the city under one roof to taste and appraise the various delicacies the restaurant served. From appetizers to starters to main course and desserts the journey took us to various continents of the world. And we being the people who eat our feelings the whole idea was a complete food heaven. The meet started with all the bloggers trickling in and talking to each other while they saw the others pull in the restaurant giving each other high-fives. The staff of Vidorra took great care to welcome and even escort each and every blogger to the amazing sumptuous food spread that was organized for the food blogger’s meet.
The day kicked off with the host- Mr. Rakesh Dawani giving a welcome note to all the bloggers along with describing what the entire meet is about. The bloggers were then asked to introduce themselves in brief. The Chef of Parantha on Wheels, Mr. Lucky extended a warm welcome to all the explorers of the FBM saying, “All queries will be answered.” And that set an affirmative mood for the start.
After settling down in our respective places, we actually felt like some professionals figuring out what to say yes and what to say no to. But because it was all about food. The answer was a pretty straight “Yes!” The meet started up with the hot soup where we were served with two kinds of soup (namely chicken coriander thick soup and sop Malay veg soup; because we got to have something for the vegans too now don’t we!!.) The soup was hearty and content. It was rich with the flavor of chicken broth lingering our senses. After sipping on to the hot soup that was delicious, we moved on to the salads. The freshness of the salad accompanied with the sauces (Honey chili, mayonnaise, hummus and mustard sauce.) made it a wonderful experience. Out of all the delicious salads, the one that made its way to my heart was the Chicken Chinese salad. It had that distinct taste of Red chili and vinegar with perfectly marinated chicken.
After having a lot of food, we felt almost full and took a little time out to get our pictures clicked and interact while the staff of the restaurant made preparations for the starters to flood in. Among all the assorted entrees, Crispy lettuce wrap, Goong Phad Kapparo, Steamed egg foi and Mutton ka panja were my favorites. Mutton ka panja really stood out for its strikingly beautiful presentation and home like taste. Chef Lucky’s inputs on each and every dish made it a delight to dine with all the fellow bloggers and enjoy every bite with endless giggles and laughter.
To further tantalize our taste buds after our “Ek Number” photography session, we were served with the main course. The highlights being Mutton bhutti ka Neelgiri accompanied by an Indonesian styled rice (Nasi Goreng Istinewa) and Shitake Mushroom and Leek noodles made it to my happy tummy. To further hydrate the main course experience, we were served elegantly dolled mock tails. The mock-tails included Creamy pie mock-tail, raspberry bull, Caribbean and purple rain.

Every gastronomical journey is incomplete without desserts. To satisfy our sweet cravings, Coconut pancakes and hot chocolate rolls with vanilla ice cream were presented with utter glee. The meet however would not have been possible without all my fellow bloggers and the host who took the initiative of inviting people sharing the same fondness. Cheers to the explicably efficient staff who served us throughout the meet with pleasure. And also to the chef who took creativeness to another level and served us mouthwatering and good to look at dishes.

The experience cannot be expressed in mere words for it was an amusing journey having pretty perfect people by your side, getting to learn about a lot of ingredients and drooling over the menu. Vidorra turned out to be a treasured and knowledgeable memory. I must say there is still #majormissing happening here!
I wish I could get a throwback to the food I ate!
Until my next post..
Stay a foodie, stay fab!! :)
