A Zaykedaar Mehfil

So, what would you get if you shake up Indore, Food and Bloggers together? I’ll tell you what.. A Zaykedar Mehfil — highly energetic, creative environment and food fanatic people all around. Bloggers who know their food texture, recipes, who argue for best eating joints with a dare to experiment new tastes.

Indorie Zayka organised Indore’s first bloggers meet at Vidorra. The meet brought together young, enthusiastic, creative bloggers not only to discuss food, flavours and hot spots in city but also gave them a chance to interact and share their creative visions. It was a refreshing day amidst fresh ideas, watching recipes dissections, learning food history and more, in a city which is known for its foodies.

The whole event was backed up by tending hospitality of Vidorra. We were served with an array of soups, starters, mocktails, main course and mouth watering desserts by resident chef Mahaveer Pandit and his team. It was a treat for both vegetarians and non vegetarians.

We started off with soups, assorted veg with rice noodles in Malaysian style for veg and Chicken Coriander Thick soup for non veg. Next came in salads, both hot and cold from which Mushroom Broccoli & Lettuce salad and Cottage Cheese & Pineapple Salad are a must try!

I liked the Chau Toriyana Tikka, a Himachal Cuisine made with cheese, paneer, stuffed mushroom which leaves a smoky flavour in mouth also, Sulatni Samandar ka Tikka the Goan delicacy which was prepared with Indian Bassa fish in spicy Goan coconut masala curry rather than regular King Fish! Steam Egg Foi, Mutton ka Panja, Hara Pyaz ka Paneer Tikka too gets a thumbs up.

Kaeng-Kiew-Wahu Phak is a must try for people who love blunt curries like me, this Thai cuisine is made by stirring fried veggies in green curry paste made with coconut milk and Thai herbs. Mutton Bhutti ka Neelgiri, was closer to its authentic Bengali preparation. Try Shoaxing Wine Chicken, Bhuna Panner e Kozambo and Shitake Mushroom and leek noodles for the fusion of their flavours.

From mocktails Espresso coffee fuller got a thumbs up from a coffee lover like me. Creamy pie, Margarita, purple drink and pan shots are worth a try too. For Desserts came in, amazing Coconut Pancakes and Hot chocolate rolls with vanilla ice cream!

It was an amazing effort put in by Indorie Zayka for all, and effortlessly organised by Vidorra, something that I haven’t experienced in this city before.
